  • Forest City Brewery

Our pantry is starting to look a little bare so we're holding a donation drive! Our friends at Forest City Brewery are letting us set-up our drive in their party room. We're going to bring some food and snacks (vegetarian and vegan friendly) and hang out for a few hours.

Suggested Entry Donation: $5

Buy your own beer, bring our dogs an item from our wish list and come hang out in the bar or beer garden.

Your well-behaved, leashed dog is welcome at Forest City Brewery in the beer garden (any day, not just this day)! Dogs are not welcome inside. Please: no retractable leashes!

We'll also have a great raffle basket for the winner of the Ugly Christmas Sweater contest!

Pull out your best, ugliest, most gawdy Christmas sweater now! You'll need to upload a picture of you (or your pet!) in your sweater (we'll spare you having to wear it day-of!) The picture with the most "likes" by the close of the event wins the gift basket!

Forest City Revival with Thor Platter & Special Guest Ray Flanagan

  • Forest City Brewer

Thor's special guest for the July edition is Ray Flanagan!

A monthly Music Series of bona fide tunes featuring Thor Platter and local guest musicians, celebrating the revival of The Forest City. Concert will be perfomed in Forest City's Atlantic Beer Garden, Ohio's oldest Beer Garden, or in the Beer Hall in cases of rain.

About Ray:
In a climate of singers, songwriters, and guitar players, Ray Flanagan is an artist. Balancing a soul of thoughtfulness and gut intuition, he weaves together images of love, justice, and depth perception. Or the absence of these things. From valley lows to the top of the world, Flanagan's songs show a range and a commitment to the history of craft that is, daily, being muddled by illusionists and proprietors of strict aesthetics, void of weight and meaning. His music is reflective of his own observations off of the world, set in, around, or completely outside of his own life. A firm believer in the philosophy of his friend and teacher Roger Hoover's New Song Movement, Ray Flanagan is cause for a next, uncharted step ahead in the narrative of American music.

Our 2nd Annual HopfenFest – A celebration of Hops!

Facebook event click here

Local amateur and professional hops growers, we want YOU! Stop by our brewery to mingle and discuss our favorite flower.

Not a Hops grower, stop by anyway!

HopfenFest pays homage to the hops harvest festivals that are widely celebrated in Germany. Local growers are encouraged to bring some sample hops (simply label your selection with the variety and growers information).

We will do a special brew on site during this event, and use the local fresh hops to create our annual HopfenFest brew. But wait there's more – 10 entries will be randomly drawn to attend our September keg tapping of this very special HopfenFest brew.

Event is free – come celebrate all things Hops!

First ever Story Club on the West Side!

  • Forest City Brewery

Story Club is an open mic for true stories and was voted "best bar event" by Thrillist Cleveland. We're thrilled to start this second installment of our Cleveland show at Forest City Brewery

This month's theme is "West Side" - what does it mean to be from the west side of Cleveland? To live here? To move here? To move away? What does this side of town have? What does it lack? What are its draws? What are its opportunities?

Our talented featured performers are:
Author and Podcaster Ken Schneck
Storyteller Skye Brown

We also have three open mic slots so you can share your story! Open mic sign up starts at 7PM and open micers are given 8 minutes (1300 words) in which to tell their true tales. If more than 3 people sign up we'll draw names for the slots.

At the end of the show the audience votes for their favorite story of the night, and that story is published in Story Club Magazine!

Entrance is free, and this evening's suggested $10 donation will both help keep our show running AND support local charity.

The Swingos Celebrity Inn Documentary

  • Forest City Brewery

Hosted by Emerge Microcinema

The film will be followed by a Q&A with the director, producers, and special guests.

ABOUT THE FILM:
The wild times of the 1970s and 80s Rock and Roll landmark Swingos Celebrity Inn of Cleveland, Ohio is chronicled in this documentary from its genesis in 1967 to its closing in 1985. Interviews with the original owner, rock stars like Michael Stanley and Southside Johnny, and Cleveland heroes like Big Chuck and Lil' Jon work together to chronicle the story of a restaurant and hotel that grew into a national sensation in downtown Cleveland at the same time as the city was falling to pieces. The river was burning, the theaters were closing, and the crime rate was climbing all while the WMMS radio station, rock critic Jane Scott, Scene Magazine, the Agora Music Hall, and Swingos created a burgeoning music scene that became the compass for Rock and Roll in the U.S.

TICKETS:
$8 advance (tickets available at emergemicrocinema.com)
$10 door

TIME:
The film starts at 8pm. The Brewery is open at 4pm.
